Happy New Year, BuonVivanters

Happy 2016!! What a perfect way to start off the year — with great friends, a variety of amazing bites, amazing selection of wines and music to shake your tush (thanks to DJ Seven)! The first sip of 2016 (after several glasses of champagne, of course) was the Chateau La Nerthe Cuvee Des Cadettes, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, 1998 from Southern Rhone; a star appellation! When you sip this wine and close your eyes, your automatically take to the region of frisbee-sized stones and breezy air. This wines just oozes with warm fruit and just captivates your palate! We hold on to this wine in our cellar since March 2000 (purchase price $49 with a current value of $109) and it was just a joy to see how pristine the aroma and flavors remain. Wine Spectator scored the 1998 vintage 95 points! Definitely a world class wine! What was your first wine of this year? Cheers to 2016, for sure!

Thanks to Beatrice Hom for hosting a fabulous New Year’s Party and Patrick Fields, Inez Stinton and Anders De Jounge for joining the festivities. Happy 2016 and let’s continue to enjoy the beauty and treasures of life! xoxo
