BuonVivant is on a mission to try the various grapes around the world. Here in San Francisco, most wine enthusiasts are passionate about local California wines. Why not?! California is wine heaven — easy access to Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Lodi! Cabs, Syrahs, Zinfandels, Chardonnay, Blends, etc. Most of our friends who are wine collectors in the Bay Area have majority 75% or more of their wines are from California. We completely love our local wines, but I’m sure you all feel me, after awhile, they all begin to mesh and taste very similar! Our dearest friends who we dine with frequently admits that they are not confident with old world wines. We love reading our Robert Parker Journal, Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast and Decanter magazines, but wow! There’s soo much grapes to explore! Effective 2023, we’re committed to reducing our California purchases and start venturing out. Greece, Portugal, Spain, New Zealand, South Africa, Argentina, Chile, Hungary, Slovenia…. and so many more! Italy and France are given! We make an effort to personally travel there just for their wines (and beauty, history, culture, music and food, of course), but it’s time to embrace other fascinating grapes around the world! The Bay Area have THE best wine shops so it shouldn’t be challenging finding worldly wines. If not, let’s consider it like “Pokemon GO!” How many wines can we actually find with worldly grapes and various region around the world! How many have you tried? What are your favorites?! Once we find the grapes, we’ll learn about the region, climate, culture, cuisine! I’m sure most of us are beginning to travel again (post-COVID) so this can be a little inspirational preview and dream as if we were actually there! We’re excited! Join us and comment as we explore this venture of “worldly wines!”
