2009 Argiolas “Costera” Isola dei Nuraghi  –  This wine flows from the glass with layers of exquisitely perfumed fruit buttressed by fine, silky tannins. There is an element of pure elegance and refinement that is hard to do justice to with words.  Sparking clear clarity, deep ruby red color.  Aromatic nose of raspberry and baking spice.   Nice, medium youthful acidity with a delicate and well-round body.  It has lavish flavors with a perfect balance and harmonious finish!  This is a terrific red from Argiolas.  Costera is a blend of 90% Cannonau, 5% Carignano and 5% Bovale Sardo.  Rated 91 points, Robert Parker.  A remarkable wine for $14.99 from the SF Wine Club!!  Enjoyed this wine with a home cooked braised beef and oyster mushroom risotto… and watched the season premiere of Homeland and Boardwalk Empire!  What an intense ending to two excellent shows!!
