We just returned back from a fabulous trip in Hawaii with Evan and Val and decided to continue the celebrating by joining them for their 9th wedding anniversary at Picco in Larkspur! Val and Evan got married two weeks before we did so honestly the dinner was in honor for both couples!! What would be better to celebrate this great evening than with a nice bottle of Bordeaux! My husband grabbed the Chateau Margaux 2008 on our way out of the house and ..omg…omg, it was amazing! It had a wonderful nose of cocoa, oak, licorice, spice, and prune. Finely-textured tannin on the palate and also quite round — shows a great deal of character. Elegant aftertaste and a nice concentrated complexity. The very best wine I’ve had in quite sometime!! Upon further research, the current auction price of this wine is $332!! This vintage has defintely lost it’s value overtime since the release price was way above $500. Either case, I thought it was oustanding!! Our waiter did too, since he poured himself a nice glass! Happy Anniversary to us Bordeaux lovers!!
