My love bug surprised me by taking me to Gary Danko for my birthday – my ultimate favorite restaurant!! Impeccable service, impeccable facility and impeccable food!
Cocktail:Belvedere Dirty Martini (even this cocktail was the best I’ve ever had) First Course: Seared Foie Gras with Caramelized Red Onion compote with Vedeines 2003 Sauternes Second Course: Soft Shell Crab with Bacon, Grits, Fava Beans and Roasted Chili with Domaine Pinson 2010 Chablis Third Course: Roasted Pork Belly and Tenderloin with Potato-Ramp Puree, Cauliflower, Pancetta and Maple Cider Glaze with Les Launes “Delas” Crozes-Hermitage 2009. My husband had the Quail Stuffed with Foie Gras, Mushrooms and Quinoa, Nettle Panisse, Spring Onions, Peas and Artichokes – so succulent!
This place inspires us to be better chefs! I’m determined to recreate the foie gras and the grits dish at home! I’ll let you know when! Thanks again to my love bug for such an amazing birthday night!
