Filipino feast for a Filipino birthday girl

Another casual fine-dining experience with our good friends and amazing chefs — Rob and Robert! They hosted a fabulous dinner party to celebrate my upcoming birthday!

Menu:

Cocktail: Mint-Lime Cocktail (Chez Panisse Friuit cookbook), Salad: Mango Jalapeno Citrus Salad served with the JBrut Rose, Main Dish: Adobo Chicken (Philippines national dish), Green Peas with Procuitto and Steamed White Rice, Dessert: Mitchell’s Ice cream consisting of Purple yam with coconut (authentically called “ube macapuno” in filipino) and mango ice-cream served with a freshly baked Norweigen almond cake.

The highlight of the evening was the post-dessert entertainment in the piano room as Rob sang a few songs for us while we sipped on our wines and coffee! It was such a treat! I was happy as a clam!! Tonight was definitely a wonderful evening with great friends — Rob, Robert, Maggie, Ellen, Ric and Pat!  Cheers to good friends and new grandparent Ellen, Ric and Pat!!  Congrats!!
