Terras Gauda Albarino “O Rosal” 2009

The is the flagship wine of Terras Gauda winery that clearly demonstrates the benefits of a wise mixture of grape varieties. This wine has elaborate flavors starting from the free-run juices of the native quality varieties from the O Rosal Valley, located on the Galician riverbanks of the Miño River.  Its prominent personality is the result of a combination of grapes from the legendary Albariño variety (approximately 70%). The result is a wine with an interesting complex mix of aromas, combining white fruits, orange pips and peel with fresh balsamic notes, supported by subtle floral and mineral hints. It enters the mouth smoothly, progressing toward a pleasant, sticky sweetness, accompanied by fresh, bright acidity, concluding with a fleshy finish in the mouth, long and creamy.  We thoroughly enjoyed this bottle with our good friend and neighbor Duncan!  What a great evening to jump start my birthday!
